The Shif-Shape (shift + shape) Puzzle involves a shifting of shapes to create anything a child would like it to be. It is so flexible that there is no limit to what a child can do with them.

Pre-schoolers from 2 to 3 years of age will have fun with Shif-Shape. They like learning with their hands and eye-hand coordination is better so building anything with blocks, large beads, and puzzles will help develop skills later in reading and writing. Shif-Shape will aid them in color, size, and shape identification. They also learn to make combinations and basic construction. Shif-Shape encourages different kinds of play: quiet, creative, manipulative, and cooperative. A child or a small group can have fun with it. Shif-Shape can still be used as a child gets older (from ages 3 to 6) because it allows for growth. More complex creations can be done using the same shapes.

The Shif-Shape Puzzle uses recycled cardboard and non-toxic inks. It comes in four basic shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle in red, green, yellow, blue, orange, and yellow green. It can be bought flat packed in a box or envelope, thus not using too much space. Each shape is die-cut on a flat sheet of cardboard which can be easily pulled apart. The cardboard is thick enough to withstand wear and tear and the coated finish will give added durability especially on spills. It is also possible to purchase extra shapes on a per sheet basis once they are used up. New shapes can be introduced from time to time for variety.

After use, the child can easily disassemble his/her creation. Or it can be preserved by putting tape or glue on the connections. Later, Shif-Shape can be discarded for recycling. After all, it is just paper.
