Spreading good vibes

by Faratiana Andriamanga

Even though we were not supposed to focus on the earthquake in Japan, I decided for my greeting cards to use kokeshis as messengers because I think they can be used for many different occasion and yet reminds people of the 11th of march 2011 or at least Japanese culture.

For me being with someone, even if you are far away, is sending to that person good vibes of love. Here it is obviously represented by the heart held by the kokeshi. I also added flowers because they are frequently used in japanese fabric designs and people often send flowers to express their support or use flowers to enlighten rooms, days… I finally drew waves on the card to express the good vibes that comes from it and the fact that they can spread from out of it.
