Competition Details

The mosaic design has universal appeal and can be found all over the world. It is an old handicraft and could not speak more clearly to the way handicrafts innovatively use different materials and pieces to create something new and beautiful. The different colors and shades represent this notion as well.

The logo shape is reminiscent of a hand involved in this creative process. At the same time it resembles a blossoming flower – a symbol of life and sustainability – emphasizing the effect the program has on the lives of the participants as it strengthens sustainable livelihoods.

The colors are represent the two elements that are most involved in handicrafts either in the process of creation or as a source for materials: water and earth.
