Million Year handshake

by Daniel Palatnik

This Poster’s design is intended to represent the rapprochement by emphasizing contrast. In it, we see the ape – here taken as a symbol of the primitive human being (through the common ancestor) shaking hands with a human – also taken as symbol, in this case for the humanity as we know it. The act of the handshake was chosen for it’s capacity to represent equality for both sides, along with a sense of mutual agreement. Trying to overview the situation as a whole, the idea is to show what we see as the most ancient sort of culture in which mankind took part getting into an agreement with our contemporary way of life
Finally, I decided to use the handshake as the only graphic representation over the white screen, in order to strengthen it’s “power” and, again, emphasize the constrast.
