The idea of the dot to dot puzzle, is that the single dots are a representation of individual cultures & communities. Each dot individually has it’s own strong identity & purpose, but when connected they form a circle, which is the most simplistic and universal symbol for harmony & unity.
The pencil which states UNESCO printed on the side, is an additional element I felt was necessary. This and the fact that the puzzle has been left incomplete, is to invite the audience to connet the dots which symbolises the action or “act of doing” which is the fundamental requirement for rapprochement to occur.
