Olympic Unity: Rivals and Friends

by Kim Schueler

My poster give an example of one event in which almost all nations and countries come together: The Olympics. They compete to honor themselves and their country through athleticism and competition. On their journey, they meet new people, learn new cultures, and exchange with many different people; they coexist. This only happens for a few weeks, but in those few weeks people get along, change opinions and find themselves at a mutual understanding that they are here to compete and bring honor to their country. If this can occur for a few weeks, why can't it occur within every country, and why can't it occur 365 days a year? This poster points out the importance of the Olympics in that it brings people to coexistence with one another.
