international year for the rapprochement of cultures

by Rose Labrouste

I am the author of this terra cotta figuring two children drawn together which I used in this project as basis to symbolise cultural legacy.
The world in seven modules, six modules for the main spoken languages plus one module for the minority's languages.
Each module presents a peculiar chromatic harmony but they inter-act between themselves by exchanging colours as the idea of that cultural production travels and fits to an other one.
I have choosed some freedom whith the white title's script to contrast with the black background to reinforce vitality of the message and wheel's dynamism of the composition.
The central heptagon makes some kind of a bolt for the rapprochement of cultures in 2010.
