The First Sun

by Jose Troconis

The early attempts children have towards drawn imagery, usually translates complex objects and elements into a very simple variety of shapes and strokes. Despite the simplicity, these early drawings usually convey not only a faithful meaning, but also a high level of uninhibited creativity.

A childish drawn sun on a square white “canvas” was chosen for the DREAM Center logo as a typical representation of those first ventures with creativity and its expressions. The sun also works as a symbol of hope and future considering possible traumatic experiences due to previous conflicts in the region.
