Express through your art

by Joanne Gomez Hauret

The two drawings were made by hand, the first one in colour (pastel pencils), the second in black and white (ink+ pen).

The colours of the letters remind a rainbow, that could be a childish connotation to dream and wonderland, also with the curved letters.
Each letter has his own colour because of their single meaning. But they all contain the same red which represent the letter E. The E is the center of D.R.E.A.M.

The logo has a pyramidal form, the letter E is at the top of the pyramid, because, to my opinion, Express is the key word of D.R.E.A.M.
The letter E links the other letters of D.R.E.A.M.: we can express our feelings by dancing, reading, drawing and playing music. That's the reason why the E is the biggest and flashiest letter of the logo and it also frames the expressive face of a child.

In contrast, the rigidity of the word CENTER (in black and white and capital letters, bring us back to reality, but it still keep us into a half dream because of the transparancy of the letters.

I think the main ideas have been included in the logo:
the sense of each letter, the importance of the word Express, the double connotation of dream and underline the message : Children's different ways to express their feelings by free approached of different arts.
