The proposed logo expresses three main ideas: Diversity, Tolerance and Celebration.
The icon is composed of a series of mosaics –irregular trapezoids– each of which are “tattooed” with internal linear patters. These features exemplify the variety and complexity of cultures around the world; portraying the distinct “personality” and “textures” of each social group and their traditions.
The interlocking characteristics of the mosaics with their “approaching” behavior illustrate the aspiration of creating an international gravitational “epicenter” in which a variety of cultures will respectfully come together to interact, learn from each other while celebrating tolerance.
The proposed logo has a cheerful dynamic nature. Its design incorporates a series of tilts and diagonal configurations plus a simple yet vibrant palette. This suggests a lively, positive and joyful festivity to be celebrated.
The logo is abstract enough and open for interpretation. Although this symbol was born from the abstraction of a dancing human figure could also be read as a flower, a pinwheel, a hand, a piece of fabric, random geometries, or a flock of birds… adapting to a personal cultural tradition.
