The core concept of this poster is based on the Ralph Waldo Emerson’s quote on the importance of language,
“Thought is the blossom. Language the bud; Action is the fruits behind it.”
Using a tree in full blossom as the main metaphor, the poster aims to visually communicate the quote above. Below the tree are a man and a woman watering the tree, signifying the act of preserving and nurturing mother language.
The poster is set in an earthy tone, as most of the native languages that are disappearing fast are regions that are still under-developed. The earthy tone helps audience to subconsciously relate to the geo-political significance of this issue.
