This tree is a metaphor for the languages of man. We would like to see our tree in full leaf, but some leaves are no longer green, signifying that they are near death. Many more have already fallen into the litter at the base of the tree, food for worms. Our tree sends its roots deep into the earth scavenging nutrients from these dead tongues.
