The Little Star by Ben Huggins
Plywood 600 x 600 x 400mm
The four componants for this deceptively simple design can be cut from a single sheet of plywood in minutes, and assembled in seconds, with out any glue or fixings.
On opening the triangular "pizza" style box the three legs are laid out in a pattern that helps explain how they slot together. The base is a puzzle quickly learnt, and can be re-assembled as many times as one pleases. Once the base is together the top is attached by placing one hand through the hole in the middle, squeezing the lugs on the top of the base together, and sliding the top down over the lugs. Press the top firmly down and the base/top click together. To dismantle simply hold onto the top and shake down.
The table can be made in one pass on a CNC router, or in a domestic workshop using a jigsaw and a hand held router.
One sheet of 8 x 4 plywood can nest the componants for three low tables or one dining height table.
Enjoy!
