When you stand a sheet of 8’ x 4’ wood upright it becomes a very substantial screen or partition. I thought it would be a challenge to make a screen for the office or home environment from the same sheet of wood and be slightly less obtrusive while maximizing the usage of the material.
I worked out that by meshing two intricate shapes together I could in effect double the area of the wood and make two screens from one. Since I decided a screen only needs to be about 160cm high I could save the remaining material from the 240cm height for a supporting stand.
This simple slot together design creates very little waste material and shows off the maple veneer.
