WOOD, PAPER, CHECKMARK: design an awareness campaign for sustainable forestry

Competition Details

by Niusia Winczewski

This campaign appeals to the eco-savy consumer by detailing green house gas figures caused by deforestation, in order to communicate the serious carbon footprint that is left due to illegal logging.

The image of the handpainted tree is unique and delicate, highlighting the irreplaceable nature of trees as works of art, both precious and hard to replace. The technique is also self-reflexive as the tree is painted on watercolour/recycled paper, and is used as an additional and subtle means to illustrate the importance of trees in all facets of our modern life, and is thus included in the execution of the campaign.

Consumers are urged to buy FSC approved products with a call to action to visit the website to make a difference, by helping to reduce greenhouse gases caused by deforestation.
