As a female cyclist, I often find cycling accessories unattractively masculine, with extreme-sport styling, and the only concession to the female wearer being pink or mauve detailing
Many women who cycle frequently choose not to wear a reflective vest to avoid the ‘builder’ look, especially when going out at night, when carrying such an item with you becomes a real burden – despite this being the time when it is most important to increase visibility.
My design solves those two problems: A cropped reflective material and organic jersey cotton (dyed with earth friendly pigment materials) vest, which features a feminine cut (raglan puffed sleeves and bow neck detail), that can be reversed and used as fashionable waist coat once you get off the bike."
The design can be easily mess produced and can also be sold as “make your own vest kit” and recycle your own plain reflective vest.
