The more we move towards the future we not just realize that everything is getting smaller as pertaining to technology but we are also being cramped by our living spaces. From a student to an inspiring new business person the luxury of a large living space is often impossible to obtain. But very often when you want to own something more compact it means that it is a far greater deal more expensive to own and also very hard to come by.
Compact cycles which is being sold on the market provides a very good solution to space but very often means that you sacrifice some fundamental features of a cycle in the same class.
In today’s day and age we are trying to look at integration and optimization, which is what my bicycle accessory is about. By taking existing bicycles and giving it a new flair. A standard handle bar can be modified and created into a foldable handle bar through halving the bar and connecting it onto an easy to manufacture hinge system, on the inside of the bar is a high strength steel cable often used on computers as a security measurement.
The handle bar thus is able to be fixed in a horizontal position for a rider to be able to use it or flipped downwards via a rotating lock. Once the handle bar is secured in a downwards position the cable can then be pulled out of the one side of the handle bar and extended the full length of the handle bar itself, the cable can be pulled around a secure object and through the front wheel. The bicycle then takes up less space where it’s being placed and provides a double security for the wheel and the cycle (cycle cannot be used without handle bars and the wheel cannot be stolen)
This solution is suitable for any semi-straight handle bars or handle bars commonly found on mountain bikes. The materials that is being used for this design is the same material/s that is currently being used for handle bars, the steel cable as described previously is currently in production in various strengths and thicknesses. The lock itself is also very easy to obtain and can be chosen from a variety of already made locks to whichever suits the requirement of the handle bar the best.
