The Ansel helmet is designed to improve the bicycling experience and encourage more people to make biking their primary means of transportation. The helmet has a few distinguishing features, the retractable visor and the integrated turn signals. These features are blended with a unique aesthetic, that serve to make wearing a helmet while cycling a more enjoyable experience. Ansel's first priority is to sustain and protect human life by encouraging cyclist's to wear a helmet. The need for a better helmet is based on statistic’s found from the department of transportation.

The "typical" bicyclist killed on our roads is a sober male over 16 not wearing a helmet riding on a major road between intersections in an urban area on a summer evening when hit by a car.”

About 540,000 bicyclists visit emergency rooms with injuries every year. Of those, about 67,000 have head injuries, and 27,000 have injuries serious enough to be hospitalized.

1 in 8 of the cyclists with reported injuries has a brain injury.

Two-thirds of the deaths here are from traumatic brain injury.

A very high percentage of cyclists' brain injuries can be prevented by a helmet, estimated at anywhere from 45 to 88 per cent.

Indirect costs of cyclists' injuries due to not using helmets are estimated at $2.3 billion each year.

The User is Anthony. He represents the young business professional 25 to 35. Working in his career Anthony commutes everyday within the city or small town. Young and at the beginning of his career Anthony represents so many college graduates who occupy our cities and run our world. Now is the most opportune time to get him on that bike so that he can enjoy it well throughout his later years. Forming habits like biking and inspiring others to do the same ensures for a healthier planet.

Featuring a retractable visor that shields the eyes from the sun, rain, wind, and other elements the Ansel helmet equips the user for a safer commute. The signals embedded on the sides communicate the cyclist’s intentions to the surrounding traffic, to avoid collisions that would certainly cause injury. The Ansel bike helmet is designed to fit into Anthony’s World/priorities, while blending into the business world maintaining the performance standard necessary for biking.
