Convincing people to restrict themselves, their energy consumption or to decrease their CO2 output is one way of fighting against global warming and quite unsexy.
Why not showing them how easy and clever the use of new sustainable technology can be? Let them things do, that weren’t possible until this time! Living sustainable, that’s responsibility and fun!
As we discovered these rollable solar cells and the lightweight rechargeable batteries, the idea of «Cinéma Solaire» was born!
«Cinéma Solaire» is a self sustaining, solar powered and highly transportable cinema that is able to spread audiovisual content, far from any plug!
During daytime when the rollable solar cells are collecting the sunlight, pedestrians may wonder, what this strange construction is for and ask how it is working. Informal chats explain the way it works, the project and what film will be showing tonight. In the evening, when the crowd is gathering in front of the modified solar panel, it’s movie time!
To go with the cinema for a hike up to the mountains or even ride on camels back through the dessert, «Cinéma Solaire» spreads important information and a new lifestyle!
If presentations are held between houses, next to telegraph poles or trees, with the special developed construction any place in the world is a perfect «Cinéma Solaire» stage!
Each component of «Cinéma Solaire» is optimized for travelling either by bike of public transport. Beside the foldable bike trailer, the prototype is designed with a rollable solar canvas made out of flexible solar cells of total 324 Watt and the special lightweight lithiumpolymer batteries (80 ampere-hour/24 V). Depending on the duration of sunshine, after approximate 4 peak hours sunlight the batteries are fully charged and the stored energy is comparable with 3 hours of cinema with a 16mm cinema projector.
