Hope seems such an appropriate subject for a fabric design, as hope seems to weave its way through our lives, making us stronger, and helping to repair the heartbreaks and hardships we suffer as thread repairs a rip in fabric. For my design I decided to show this weaving and repairing nature of hope by weaving the letters HOPE into the squares of the pattern. They become abstracted and geometric, giving the final design a slightly modern bent. The colors are earthy are welcoming, with a hopeful lightness to them. As the individual squares meet, they merge, becoming something greater than their single purpose, just as we are greater when we come together in hope.
