International Flag of India Redux

by Jorge Garay Padilla

The point behind my design was to make something that was both recognisable and likeable by the people of India, and what a better idea than using the flag itself! Although I took a few liberties withe the coloring of the wheel, the other two colors of the flag (green and orange) were kept the same. Anyone who knows the story behind the flag knows that the flag itself is a symbol of hope to the people of India. First proposed by Gandhi in 1921, the flag has had a few changes over time but the symbolism of the spinning wheel has remained the same, symbolising Gandhi's goal of making Indians self-reliant and stronger against all adversity. I really hope you like it!
