By the year 2035, today's cutting-edge technologies will be the common standards. Most new construction is Zero Net Energy. Each building is designed to generate as much energy as it will consume annually. Most new construction is designed to have near zero carbon emissions. Daylighting guides natural light deep into each building, using light pipes or fiber optics for area and task lighting. Supplemental lighting is provided by high-efficiency, long-life, low-voltage LEDs. BIPV, Building Integrated Photovoltaic systems provide the electricity needed to power a building.
