The plate graphic has been designed for the children taking ideas from them. It is children who need hope from the design and it is them who are the future of this world. The message that if we take care of our surroundings and everything is as picture perfect as shown here, then the world indeed would be a happier place to live in is the basic idea for a hope for future. Research with some children from under privileged background gave ideas of the key elements of the design when they were asked, “What is it about nature and your surroundings that you love the most and that give you most happiness?" Trees, mountains, clouds, rain, friends, butterflies are some of the most common suggestions. It is important to understand that children understand simplicity and hence the illustrations are simple yet appealing and most importantly seek to be something that children all over the world can relate to and understand. The butterflies that emerge not only symbolize that we need to protect animals and insects but are used here as the colorful, joy that fills the hearts of billions of children all over the world with hope. The border shows the face of a girl, used as a symbol of children along with her beautiful heart (and all the hearts in the world). The color pink has been carefully chosen as it has associations with joy and happiness. Overall the composition uses colors that please, a visual style that communicates effectively and captures the spirit of Tribute21 plates.
