The design is made up of three unique parts used repeatedly to form the chair. Each part is a routed profile all cut from a single sheet of plywood, only these simply parts are required this is because of the chairs design:
The downwards force from the weight of the chair and the occupant causes the chairs legs to spread. The legs spread pivoting around the lower baton; the legs are stopped from spreading by the upper baton.
The design is simple and easily assembled and disassembled without any tools. The design could be quickly scaled to create a bench and the style of the chair is easily adaptable whilst retaining the same structural principles.
