The project is a 16 inch diameter globe put together as a 3-D puzzle. Each puzzle piece is a unique shape, and the globe would be built from the bottom up. Since the pieces can be any shape, the cut outs from the sheet of plywood can be made with almost no waste.
I think putting the globe together would be a fun process, as would seeing what else could be made from all the odd shaped blocks. The globe would display the edges of the plywood, highlighting how it is assembled from many thin layers and contrasting the smooth interior planes.
