Sawhorse

Ever since man started working with wood, the sawhorse has been a key element of any good workshop. Whether made from scrap wood or new materials, woodworkers always used sawhorse designs which were refined and passed down from generation to generation.

Today, this icon of good craftsmanship is in danger. Slowly, plastic and steel sawhorses are being sold to the public under pretence of being stronger or more convenient and a long tradition is dying.

This sawhorse is meant to be used as a marketing tool as well as a woodworking tool. The design can be downloaded from the Internet with the company logo engraved into the program. Any local woodworking shop using a local supply of materials can cut the parts that will be given or sold to customers and used for corporate promotion.

The sawhorse is cut from a single piece of plywood in a single operation on a CNC router. It is easily assembled and locks together without the use of hardware into a sturdy “A frame” design that can withstand heavy loads or any amount of abuse thrown at it. A removable shelf adds convenience to the design.
