Topographic Coffee Table

by Chelsea Cuccio

Flat-pack design can be surprisingly dimensional. A landscape of sculptural abrasions sinks down from the smooth functionality of the piece, serving as a reminder of the impact of deforestation. The topographic treatment of the table surface reveals the beauty of the wood in layers. Planks of White Maple face FSC-certified plywood are held in place by interference fit tongue-and-groove joinery, eliminating the need for glue or hardware.
