Kobe G8 Environment Ministers Meeting "Furoshiki"

Competition Details

by Nino Comba

The city is a vast workshop for environmental issues.
Designing a sustainable urban environment is the biggest challenge and a day by day practice.
Through the grid of the city we can design our path to a more balanced and beautiful world.

Using Kobe satellite view as background, I shaped the subway network line drawing as the basic structure of an ikebana. To my eyes, the Japanese art of arranging flowers, is highly symbolic of what nature can be in the skilled hands of man and of interaction between different cultures.

I propose two variations of the same design, with slight color differences and two background patterns.
