The first furoshiki shows Kobe Port Tower. I have tried to combine a symbol of the modern Kobe with something natural (the blossoms) to show that nature and progress are not necessarily conflicting.
The subway like any other public means of transport is a perfect way to protect our environment. Thus, the pattern of the second furoshiki is derived from the Kobe subway map: it was generated by variously mirroring the network. The colours are partially overprinting.
