Kobe G8 Environment Ministers Meeting "Furoshiki"

Competition Details

Furoshiki Woudesign

by Fokko van der Woude

Dear jury,
Hereby you receive my entry for the "Furoshiki for the Kobe G8 Environment Ministers Meeting" design contest.
My design shows the city of Kobe. Is it day or is it night? I guess it's both.
The sky above the city of Kobe shows a diversity of leaves. The ocean in which you can see the reflection of the city shows a diversity of fishes and other creatures that live in the ocean.
The city of Kobe is balanced inbetween the living green nature behind it and the living blue nature in front of it.
Like always in my designs I have used bright colours and basic/primary shapes. I hope the result is inspiring to others.
My design is made in Adobe InDesign.
It would be great if my design would be the winning one and be printed on cotton as a real furoshiki to be presented and used at the G8 Meeting in Kobe.
One of my attached images shows my design hanging in my studio with me standing in front of it. Another image shows some of my other (acrylic paintings) work at my studio as well.
You can see more of my work on my website: www.woudesign.com
and I'd be happy to welcome you at my studio here in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
Thank you very much.
With kind regards,

Fokko van der Woude
