In the remote Choco region of Colombia, thousands of families displaced by the country's brutal civil war are fighting for their economic survival. Aid to Artisans is playing a crucial role in the revival of these resilient communities by developing their marketable talents into handcraft.
For the past two years, ATA has helped hundreds of Choco craftsmakers grow self sustaining businesses by providing product development, business skills training and links to the local and international markets. These initiatives have stabilized many craft communities, while restoring cultural pride and giving artisans the economic means to afford needed social services for their children.
YOUR GIFT can help us continue in our efforts. In order to sustain the success of our work in Choco, ATA needs to raise over $220,000 in matching funds to supplement corporate challenge grants. Please help with a generous donation today.
